Add CatalogBadge to your Snapchat catalog

Snapchat dynamic ads read products from a catalog in Snapchat Ads Manager. Point that catalog at our Snapchat feed and your ads show the branded images. You work in your own Ads Manager; we never have access to your ad account.

Your Snapchat feed URL

In CatalogBadge, open your store. The Overview page lists your snap-full.xml URL with the Meta ones, along with when Snapchat last fetched it. The last step of the setup wizard shows it too. Treat it like a password.

snap-full.xml is a full feed: every product of your feed with every field unchanged apart from the images. Snapchat has no supplementary feeds, so this is the only way to bring branded images to a Snapchat catalog.

Add the feed in Snapchat Ads Manager

  1. Open Snapchat Ads Manager and go to Catalogs.
  2. Choose the catalog your dynamic ads use.
  3. Open its product source (data source) and choose a scheduled feed URL. If the catalog already reads a feed URL, replace it with your snap-full.xml URL; if it has none yet, add one with that URL.
  4. Set the most frequent schedule Snapchat offers, and save.

To undo, paste your old URL back. Snapchat’s guide: product catalogs and product sets.

If an app fills your Snapchat catalog today (for example the Snapchat app for Zid or Shopify), that catalog has no feed URL to replace. Write to hello@catalogbadge.com before you change a catalog that is running ads, and we will go through it with you.

What to expect and how to check

  • Snapchat downloads the file, then the images. They can take a few hours to show.
  • Products whose image is not drawn yet keep their original photo, never an old image. Products that are out of stock, skipped by a rule or past your plan’s product count keep their original photo too.
  • The Overview page shows when Snapchat last fetched the feed; in Ads Manager, the catalog shows its last upload and any errors. A branded product’s image address starts with https://img.catalogbadge.com/.

Items still show the old image

  • Snapchat has not fetched since the change. Check the last fetch time and the schedule.
  • The new image is not drawn yet. After a price, sale or title change, the feed shows your own photo until the new image exists, so an old price never shows. It switches on the next fetch after the image is ready.
  • The product is not branded on purpose. Your store’s dashboard says why.

An image address changes only when the image changes, and platforms re-download an image only when its address changes. More in images and updates and timing.
