Set up CatalogBadge with BigCommerce
BigCommerce sends products to Meta and Google through its sales channels, which sync by connection and give you no feed URL to read. To use CatalogBadge you add a product feed app that publishes your products at a URL. You keep your channels; CatalogBadge only changes the images in your ad catalogs.
1. Get a feed URL from a feed app
- In the BigCommerce App Marketplace, install a product feed app that publishes your products at a URL in Meta (Facebook) or Google Shopping format, as XML or CSV.
- Create a feed with the id, title, price, sale price, availability, link and image of each product. If your Meta catalog is synced by BigCommerce’s Meta channel, the ids must be the same ids that channel gives your products, so our images land on the right products. Compare a few products in Commerce Manager with the app’s feed.
- Set the app to refresh the feed on a schedule, then copy the feed URL.
BigCommerce’s help centre covers installing apps and its sales channels.
2. Add the feed to CatalogBadge
- Create your account on app.catalogbadge.com, then choose Onboard a store.
- Feed: paste the feed URL. We read it and show sample products with their prices, plus anything Meta would reject. Nothing is saved yet.
- Store: confirm the store name and the platform (BigCommerce; we usually pick it from your photos), then the country, currency, time zone and the language of the feed.
- Template, Brand and QA preview: pick your designs and check your products as finished images.
- Feed URLs: copy your feed URLs, then choose Go live.
Images are drawn while your plan or free trial is active. Until then your feeds carry your own product photos. If the app names columns its own way, set them once in the Column map (see input feeds).
3. Put our feed into your Meta catalog
- Your catalog is synced by BigCommerce’s Meta channel: keep the channel and add our
meta-supp.csvas a supplementary feed. It only changes the images. - Your catalog reads a feed file: replace that scheduled feed URL with our
meta-full.xml. It carries every field of yours unchanged apart from the image links.
The steps are in the Meta guide; Snapchat works the same way (Snapchat guide). Your Google channel stays as it is (why we do not touch Google). Questions? Write to hello@catalogbadge.com.
