Set up CatalogBadge with Magento

Magento 2 stores usually give Meta a product feed from an extension, such as the Amasty, Mageworx or Wyomind feed extensions. CatalogBadge reads that same feed and publishes a full copy of it in which only the image links change.

1. Find your feed URL

  1. In the Magento admin, open your feed extension’s list of feeds and choose the feed you send to Meta (or a Google Shopping feed).
  2. Copy its public URL: the address where the extension publishes the generated file. XML, CSV and TSV all work, including Magento exports that wrap items in <products><item>.
  3. Check that the extension regenerates the file on a schedule (a cron job), so the file we read is current.

No feed extension yet? Adobe’s Commerce documentation and your extension vendor’s guide cover installing one.

2. Add the feed to CatalogBadge

  1. Create your account on app.catalogbadge.com, then choose Onboard a store.
  2. Feed: paste the feed URL. We read it and show sample products with their prices, plus anything Meta would reject. Nothing is saved yet.
  3. Store: confirm the store name, platform (Magento), country, currency, time zone and the language of the feed.
  4. Template, Brand and QA preview: pick your designs and check your products as finished images.
  5. Feed URLs: copy your Meta and Snapchat feed URLs, then choose Go live.

Images are drawn while your plan or free trial is active. Until then your feeds carry your own product photos.

3. If your export uses its own column names

Some exports name columns their own way, for example final_price for the price, is_in_stock with 1 and 0 for availability, or Imageurl for the photo. We do not guess which column is which, because a wrong guess could put a wrong price on an image. Instead, open the Column map on your store’s Overview page, say which column holds each field and what your stock values mean, and use the dry run to see the result before you save. Details are in input feeds.

4. Swap your Meta data feed

A Magento store’s Meta catalog usually reads the extension’s file as a scheduled data feed. Replace that URL with our meta-full.xml. Our file carries every field of yours unchanged apart from the image links, so nothing else about the catalog changes, and you can paste your old URL back at any time. The steps are in the Meta guide; Snapchat works the same way (Snapchat guide).
