Set up CatalogBadge with Shopify
Most Shopify stores send products to Meta through the Facebook and Instagram by Meta sales channel. That channel syncs a catalog directly and has no feed URL we can read, so you need a product feed app as well. You keep the channel; CatalogBadge only changes the images.
1. Get a feed URL from a feed app
- In the Shopify App Store, install a product feed app that publishes your products at a URL in Meta (Facebook) or Google Shopping format.
- Create a feed with the id, title, price, sale price (compare-at price), availability, link and image of each product. The ids must be the same ids the Facebook and Instagram channel gives your products in Meta, so our images land on the right products. Compare a few products in Commerce Manager with the app’s feed.
- Copy the feed URL.
2. Add the feed to CatalogBadge
- Create your account on app.catalogbadge.com, then choose Onboard a store.
- Feed: paste the feed URL. We read it and show sample products with their prices, plus anything Meta would reject. Nothing is saved yet.
- Store: confirm the store name, platform (Shopify), country, currency, time zone and the language of the feed.
- Template, Brand and QA preview: pick your designs and check your products as finished images.
- Feed URLs: copy your Meta feed URL, then choose Go live.
Images are drawn while your plan or free trial is active. Until then your feeds carry your own product photos.
3. Add our images to your Meta catalog
In Commerce Manager, add our meta-supp.csv as a supplementary feed on the catalog the Shopify channel created. Prices and stock keep coming from Shopify; our feed changes only the images. The steps are in the Meta guide.
Snapchat
Snapchat has no supplementary feeds, so a Snapchat catalog needs our full Snapchat feed as its product source. See the Snapchat guide, and write to hello@catalogbadge.com if your Snapchat catalog is filled by an app today.
