Shopify to Snapchat: branded catalog ad images
Shopify stores get branded Snapchat catalog ad images by reading their products through a Shopify feed app into CatalogBadge and using our snap-full.xml as the scheduled product source of their Snapchat catalog. The file keeps every field the app exports. CatalogBadge plans start at $49 a month in US dollars, and your feeds carry your own photos until a plan or free trial is active.
Step 1: get your product feed from Shopify
- The Facebook and Instagram sales channel syncs a catalog without a readable feed URL, so install a product feed app from the Shopify App Store.
- Create a feed with each product’s id, title, price, compare-at price, availability, link and image, in Meta or Google Shopping format.
- Use the same ids your sales channels already give your products, then copy the feed URL.
Each variant listed as its own item, a colour or a size, gets its own image and counts as its own product on your plan.
Step 2: add the feed to CatalogBadge
Create your account, choose Onboard a store and paste the feed URL. The wizard shows sample products with their prices before anything is saved, then you pick your designs, check them in the preview and go live. Create your account
The Shopify setup guide has every screen of the wizard.
Step 3: put snap-full.xml into Snapchat
Which file you paste depends on how your Snapchat catalog gets products today:
| Your Snapchat catalog today | Paste | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| Filled by the Snapchat app for Shopify | snap-full.xml | There is no feed URL to replace. Write to us before you change a catalog that runs ads; the route is a catalog that reads our file. |
| Reads a feed app’s URL | snap-full.xml | Paste ours in its place and keep the schedule. |
In Snapchat
- In Snapchat Ads Manager, open Catalogs and choose the catalog your dynamic ads use.
- Open its product source and choose a scheduled feed URL.
- Paste your snap-full.xml URL, in place of the URL it reads today if it has one.
- Pick the most frequent schedule Snapchat offers and save. To undo, paste the old URL back.
The image Snapchat gets

Snapchat gets the 1:1 image. Our file carries every field of your feed unchanged apart from the image links, so titles, prices and product sets stay as they were. Snapchat has no supplementary feed, which is why it always takes the full file.
Watch out
If you move a catalog from the app to our file, the product ids in the feed app must be the ones your Snapchat pixel reports, or retargeting loses its matches. Compare a few before the switch.
Check that it worked
- The Overview page shows when Snapchat last fetched snap-full.xml.
- In Ads Manager, the catalog shows its last upload and any errors.
- A branded product’s image address starts with https://img.catalogbadge.com/.
Questions
Can I test before switching the catalog my ads use?
Yes. Add our file to a new catalog first, check the images there, and only then move your ad sets to it.
Do I keep the Facebook and Instagram sales channel?
Yes. It keeps sending prices and stock to Meta. CatalogBadge only reads your products through the feed app and changes the images.
