WooCommerce to Meta: branded catalog ad images
To connect WooCommerce to a Facebook catalog with branded catalog ad images, give CatalogBadge the URL of your feed plugin, then paste our meta-full.xml in its place in Commerce Manager. If Facebook for WooCommerce syncs the catalog, our meta-supp.csv goes on top instead. CatalogBadge plans start at $49 a month in US dollars, and your feeds carry your own photos until a plan or free trial is active.
Step 1: get your product feed from WooCommerce
- WooCommerce has no product feed of its own, so install a feed plugin such as Product Feed PRO or CTX Feed from Plugins, then Add New.
- Create a feed in Google Shopping or Facebook format, XML or CSV, with each product’s id, title, price, sale price, availability, link, image and brand.
- Set the plugin to refresh the file hourly or daily, then copy its URL, usually under /wp-content/uploads/ on your domain.
A CSV export may call the price regular_price and stock instock or outofstock. Tell us which column is which in the Column map; a wrong guess could put a wrong price on an image, so we never guess.
Step 2: add the feed to CatalogBadge
Create your account, choose Onboard a store and paste the feed URL. The wizard shows sample products with their prices before anything is saved, then you pick your designs, check them in the preview and go live. Create your account
The WooCommerce setup guide has every screen of the wizard.
Step 3: put meta-full.xml / meta-supp.csv into Meta
Which file you paste depends on how your Meta catalog gets products today:
| Your Meta catalog today | Paste | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| Reads the feed plugin’s URL as a scheduled data feed | meta-full.xml | Replace the plugin’s URL with ours. It carries every field of the plugin’s file unchanged apart from the images. |
| Synced by Facebook for WooCommerce | meta-supp.csv | Keep the plugin and add our file as a supplementary feed. |
In Meta
- Open Commerce Manager, choose the catalog your Facebook and Instagram catalog ads use, then open Catalog and Data sources.
- Make the change from the table above on that catalog: swap the scheduled data feed URL, or add a supplementary feed to the source your platform created.
- Set the schedule to hourly and save. Choose Upload now on a data feed for a first fetch straight away.
- Keep the same catalog. Your ad sets point at it, so deleting it and starting again would cut them off.
The image Meta gets

Meta takes the 1:1 image as the main picture of each product. Turn on 4:5 and 9:16 in Rules and they go in as additional images for feed and Stories placements. A product whose image is not drawn yet keeps its own photo, never an older render that shows a different price.
Watch out
With Facebook for WooCommerce the ids in your feed plugin must be the ids the Meta plugin gives your products, which may include a prefix or the variation id. Compare a few in Commerce Manager first; rows with other ids are ignored.
Check that it worked
- The store’s Overview page in CatalogBadge shows when Meta last fetched each file.
- In Commerce Manager, open Items and a product you expect to be branded: its image address starts with https://img.catalogbadge.com/.
- The first fetch can take a few hours to show in Commerce Manager and in ads.
Questions
Can I go back to my plugin’s feed?
Yes. Paste the plugin’s URL back into the data feed, and Meta returns to your photos on its next fetch.
My plugin writes the feed only once a day. Is that enough?
Your images can only be as fresh as the file we read. Set the plugin to hourly if it allows; we check your feed on every sync and draw only what changed.
