Meta’s free catalog ad templates, or CatalogBadge?
Meta now has free image templates for catalog ads in Commerce Manager, with layers, catalog fields and rules per layer. If you only advertise on Meta and need a price and a logo, start there. CatalogBadge is for stores that also run TikTok, Snapchat or Pinterest, show pay-later instalments or sell in Arabic.

Where Meta image templates is ahead
- It is free and already in your Commerce Manager, with no feed to add.
- Meta’s own background removal and crop on the product layer, previewed on your real products.
- One tool fewer: the design lives in the same place as your ads.
Where CatalogBadge is different
- One design reaches Meta, TikTok, Snapchat and Pinterest, so your ads look the same everywhere.
- Instalment amounts are worked out per product; a template can only show a number your feed already has.
- Arabic layouts mirror right to left with Arabic fonts, and an English version of each product goes to Meta’s language feeds.
- Season presets for your country switch designs on time, without editing ads.
Moving from Meta image templates without breaking your catalog
- You can keep using Meta’s templates for some ad sets. Our images go into the catalog itself, so an ad with a Meta template draws its template over our image.
- For ads that show our images, choose no image template in the ad and turn off dynamic overlays and background generation under Advantage+ creative.
- Keep the same catalog: add our file as a supplementary feed or swap the feed URL in Commerce Manager.
Questions
Can I use CatalogBadge and Meta’s templates together?
Yes, in different ads. An ad with a Meta image template draws it over the product image, ours included, so pick one per ad.
Why not put the instalment in a custom label?
You can, if your feed tool writes the amount into a custom label and keeps it in step with every price change. CatalogBadge works it out for you and updates the image when the price moves.
